Wairarapa Under 17 captain Liam Burling has been rewarded for his solid performances this season with selection in the Central Districts Under 17 side to attend the National tournament in Karori, Wellington from January 13-22nd.

An accomplished top order batsman, Burling has been a notable performer for the Wairarapa Senior Mens Hawke Cup side this season and top scored for the Under 17’s team in his first game at the Central Districts regional tournament this week against Manawatu scoring 58.

At just 15 years of age Burling is one of the youngest in the team and has another season available in this age group. “It’s very humbling and I’m extremely grateful to the people who have helped me get to where I am now” said Burling.

“I’m really excited about the challenge and I will be working hard over the Christmas and New Year period to make sure I’m in good shape for ten days of cricket in a row”

Wairarapa Cricket wishes Liam all the best for the tournament and we are very proud of his achievements!
