The Long Room desperately required a facelift and the committee were fortunate to receive free paint through Resene’s Community Paint scheme.  On this scheme one gets a mixture of left over paint and so you are unsure what the final colour would be.  Well much to our surprise we were thrilled with our colour and have since found out it is very close to “tea”.  It was an extra bonus that as part of our 10 litres we managed to get 1 litre of a left over blue colour.  We used this to do the window and door frames and the kitchen cupboards.

Unfortunately the photos don’t really show how much nicer the room looks, it was taken at night, when the shutters covering our windows were closed, and so it doesn’t show it as well.  One also cannot see the real difference in the wall colour, but believe me, it is a real difference and we have had a lot of positive feedback over the weekend.

Many thanks to the painters – Margie Holmes, Sammy Curtis, Jamie Holmes and Manon Smith

The Wairarapa Cricket Assocation would especially like to acknowledge Resene for supporting us with this wonderful scheme!
