The Senior T20 competition kicked off on Thursday evening the 20th November. Greytown played against Rathkeale. Rathkeale won the toss and elected to bat. Wickets fell early and after 4.4 overs Rathkeale were 26 for 3. Again it was Steve Coleman and Dylan Price who put on a valuable 82 run partnership in only 9.4 overs. Steve Coleman top scored with 60 runs and Dylan made 28. Rathkeale only managed to bat 18.4 overs and were all out for 126 runs. Tony Russo gets his name onto the Honours Board for the first time this season. He bowled 4 overs for 16 runs and took 5 wickets. Ryan Tonkin also deserves a mention for his bowling efforts, 2.4 overs, 8 runs and 3 wickets.
In reply Greytown were always behind in the run rate, scoring 107 for the loss of 7 wickets in their 20 overs. Luke Dingle batting at number 3 top scored for Greytown getting 29 runs. The full score card can be viewed here.
In the other game Wairarapa College won the toss against Red Star and also elected to bat first. They lost a wicket early, but Nathan Elliott who opened top scored making 37 runs. Lucien Burt again contributed to his teams batting performance scoring 26 runs. Run outs were costly for Wai Coll in their innings and the students reached 102 in 18.5 overs. Pete Sigvertson was the pick of the Red Star bowlers. He bowled 4 overs for 16 runs and took 3 wickets. In reply, it was also the Red Star opener, Troy Burling who top scored making 21 runs. At 60 for 4 after 12.5 overs Red Star were looking comfortable. Two wickets then fell quickly and Red Star never quite recovered making 95 runs in 18.2 overs.

On Saturday, Round 7 of the Umpires Cup was played. Rathkeale were again taking on Greytown, this time in Greytown. In this game Greytown dominated scoring 242 runs in 44.1 overs for the loss of 10 wickets. The top 4 batsmen set them up scoring 153 of the 242 runs, with Paul Lyttle top scoring on 52.
Jack Forrester got 4 wickets in his 9 overs for 55 runs. Rathkeale stuggled and only managed to make 54 runs. Tony Russo again dominated with the ball taking 4 wickets and Byron Hegglin who came up from the Greytown 2nds took 3 wickets. The full score card can be viewed here.
In the other game Red Star played against Lansdowne. Red Star won the toss and elected to bat. After 27 overs they were all out for 141 runs. Craig Stoneley batting at number 8 offered resistance and top scored on 44 runs. Sean Jarvis (22) and L Lowe (23) made useful contributions. In the Lansdowne innings, only 1 ball was bowled before the rain came down and the game was called off.
In the Open Grade, the game at Rathkeale between The Rathkeale Colts and Lansdowne 2 was called off due to rain. Down in Greytown it was an all Greytown affair with Greytown Old Boys getting 135 runs in 39.5 overs against 10 o’clock cookie company Greytown 2. G. Dennis top scored on 26. Regan Pope and N Hill took 2 wickets each.
Greytown 2 reached 136 for 6 in 27.5 overs. G Mordant made 31* and C Freeman was close behind making 27 runs. M Dennis was the pick of the Old Boys team, bowling 8 overs, 1 maiden for 38 runs and took 3 wickets.
