In the Senior Competition, The Umpires Cup,  Wairarapa College tasted victory for the first time when they beat Lansdowne by 33 runs. Lucienne Burt top scored with 31 runs.  The boys were all out for 136 runs off 25.5 overs.  Sanjay Patel got his name on the Honours Board for the first time this season when he took 5 wickets in his 7 overs for 29 runs. In what should have been an easy total to chase Lansdowne made hard work of it. Nick Griffith was the first of the Lansdowe batters to fall being bowled by his brother Brad.  Wickets fell steadily throughout the innings with Vinkat Ganesan being the only batsman to offer some resistance batting at number 7 and top scoring with 25 runs. In the other game Red Star were again playing Rathkeale, this time being played at Greytown due to the Senior Reps playing at Rathkeale. Rathkeale 1sts won the toss and chose to bat. Steve Coleman is to be congratulated for scoring back to back centuries, this time scoring 120 runs off 134 balls.  Steve and Dylan Price (32*) put on a valuable 116 partnership and Rathkeale reached  208 for 5 in their 50 overs. Pete Sigvertson was the top bowler with figures of 10 overs of which 4 were maidens for 20 runs and 3 wickets. In reply the Red Star top order all chipped in reaching double figures with Captain Chris Wenden top scoring with 45 runs.  The 3 run outs nearly cost Red Star the win, but this time they reversed the loss from last week by reaching 210 for 8 in 49.2 overs. In the Open Grade Times Age Cup on Saturday afternoon, Greytown Old Boys hosted Rathkeale 2nds at Kuranui. Wickets were hard to come by for Rathkeale and the Greytown Old Boys reached 228 for only 4 wickets in their 40 overs.  G Dennes Wilson got his name onto the Honours Board by scoring 105*.  Colin Jones added his fair share of runs by getting 40*.  In reply Rathkeale 2nds reached 191 for the loss of 8 wickets, resulting in a 37 run win to Greytown Old Boys.  Stand out bowlers for Greytown were:  C Brayshaw who got 3 or 40, C Eastern 2 for 18 and C Jones 2 for 24.

In the other game the Rathkeale Colts hosted Greytown 10 0’clock Cookie Company.  After their thrilling win the weekend before the Colts struggled this weekend and were all out for 26 in 15.4 overs with none of them reaching double figures.  It was Regan Pope and A Butterfield who did the damage.  Regan’s name can now be added to the Honours Board for taking 5 wickets in 8 overs for only 14 runs, of which 3 overs were maidens and A Butterfield nearly made it when he bowled 4.4 overs for 7 runs and took 4 wickets. In reply Greytown 10 o’clock CC reached 29 runs in 7.1 overs for the loss of 3 wickets.

The final game was an interclub affair with Lansdowne 2 playing against Lansdowne 3. It was only a few weeks ago that Lansdowne 3 beat Lansdowne 2 so it was game on.  Lansdowne 2 batted first and made 272 for 9 in their 40 overs.  Both Darren Towgood and Mitch Hooper made the Honours Board with Darren making 66 runs and Mitch making 62 runs.  Lansdowne 3 fell short by 116 runs and were all out for 156.
