For the 2018/19 season the Wairarapa Cricket Association will have the following playing opportunities available to secondary school cricketers:
Boys School Cricket
Thursday T20 Competition A T20 grade played on Thursday afternoons commencing 3:30pm. An eleven a side competition designed for social participants and those new to cricket. Teams can be mixed gender if required and competition is open to interested girls 2nd XI teams.
Trevor Martin Trophy (Saturday morning colts). A 30 over, eleven per side competition for college year 9 and 10 teams. Games are played Saturday morning 9am-1pm.
Saturday Afternoon Colts 40 over Competition A 40 over competition, eleven per side for college 2nd XIs, colts and developing 1st XIs. Games are played Saturday afternoon from 1pm-6pm.
College Boys 1st XIs Rathkeale College participate in WCA Premier Mens Competitions in the first half season before playing inter-school fixtures for the second half. Wairarapa College participate in the P3 grade of the Wellington Schools Competition. Kuranui College participate in the Saturday Afternoon Colts Competition.
Girls School Cricket
Lone Star Girls Trophy: This is a 9 per side Hardball competition for Primary and Intermediate school teams played on Thursday evenings, 16 overs per innings.
T20 Girls: This is a 9 aside hardball competition for Intermediate A and Secondary School teams played on Thursday evenings, 20 overs per innings
Combined Secondary Girls: Three combined Secondary Girls (year 9 & above) side play in either the Saturday morning junior college colts competition (Trevor Martin Trophy), or the Saturday Afternoon Colts competition (40 overs). These are open to any female secondary player who wish to participate in a stronger cricketing competition. College Girls 1st XIs: The 1st XI competition is still being worked on for the 2019-20 season and will involved at least St Matthews and Wairarapa College, with the potential of some inter school fixtures
